Another small update.
Officially working at PetCo, and relatively independently by now. Most of my training is done.
I fucking LOVE my job. I get to bathe puppies all day~
The only things I dislike?
1) The computer system is wonky (minor) and
2) I occasionally quick the puppies when I trim nails :c
Aside from that, my job is pretty much perfect. ♥
My co-workers are also awesome, PS-- all my co-workers in the grooming salon know I'm trans* and there was almost no reaction. Seriously, they reacted more strongly to my vegetarianism than my transliness. I'm going by a nickname that my uncle gave me (because he can't wrap his head around "James"), CJ. First initial of my legal name, first initial of MY name. It works.
Made some business cards in MS Word. They didn't line up right, though, so I'm kind of pissed at Word right now. But whatever, I have business cards that I can hand out until I can order from VistaPrint.
Oh yeah, and our location has temporarily stopped grooming cats (because they'd get stressed when they heard all the dogs barking). But we're also starting that up again, potentially sometime soon. The groomer that's gonna be doing it came up with the perfect solution: Cat's Night Out. It's gonna be a few hours, most likely the second Wednesday of each month, just for kitties. (I also volunteered to help, because I'm not nervous or whatever around cats like some of my co-workers).
I find that kinda funny. Some of my co-workers have no problems working with dogs that could outweigh them, but they can't handle cats because they're squirmy and have claws, not nails. *shrug*
