A pre-game challenge between Dylan Redfield (Red Deer, SF) and Buck Hopper (Rabbit, PG) resulted in Redfield appearing at the post-game conference wearing a pair of ridiculous 80's style sunglasses. He was probably thankful that his team had lost, limiting the number of questions he answered.
Ryan Malone (Kangaroo, SG) was absolutely furious at the post-game meeting, drumming his fingers on his bicep and scowling at the reporters as he answered questions. He spoke of how poorly his teammates were shooting and suggested that Hopper should stop thinking about crazy bets and focus on winning games.
Usually Klaus Korber (Doberman, PG), Jake Velox (Swift Fox, SG) and Charles Yotechuk (Coyote, PF) appear in the press room together representing the Dawg Pack, but in a bold twist, Chuck-Yo-Chuk gave up his seat for Adrian McCormick (Badger, SF), who wore a pair of costume-style dog ears during the event. He then cooly drew no attention to it, even telling a reporter who asked that he had "no idea what he was talking about." Korber and Velox supported this attitude, refusing to acknowledge A-Mac not being a canine.
And that's a swish.

On to DAK! Well. Most of the team, anyhow. >:)

After a stormy start into the FBA Finals, the Typhoons rain on the Dakota Bikers 111-99 who will ride back to Sturgis to settle Games 3-5 with the Eastern Champs.
Ok, I'm done with puns for now.
Game 2 started off just like Game 1. The Typhoons would grab and early lead and hold it until the Bikers would come back in the second quarter. The Hops-Skywalker show was having one heck of a night, with alley-oops smashing down on the home team like comets. I could hear several boos every time the two would connect. That just shows how much the crowd stands behind the Typhoons.
But the second quarter showed a little more class differences than the first seven quarters of this final. Tallahassee received several boosts from not just the loud fans, but from a non-canine. Adrian McCormick had 17 points, but here's the catch: 100% shooting accuracy! The big bad badger was showing an unlikely side of him, hitting shots in and outside the key and even made a splash with a 3-pointer that sent the 'Phoons fans in a frenzy.
While Ryan Malone racked up 34 points for the Bikers, it just wasn't enough, as Dakota seemed to have an off night, not hitting every shot. Hopper hit only 7 of 14 attempts, Dylan Redfield 7 of 12. Two big names weren't catching a break, thus the frustration of Malone after the game was justifiable.
"If you can't hit your shots and don't get the rebound, you don't win games." He says frustrated, rubbing his forehead with a towel. "I mean, come on."
Meanwhile, I could only chuckle when McCormick arrived at the 'Phoons presser with dog ears on, pretending he's actually a canine. To be honest, after tonight's game, he can be a badger dog in my books. I was tempted to give him a nice bone for hitting all of his shots.
Game 3 is back up north in Sturgis, SD, and I can't wait for more noise and more fantastic basketball.
