Science TFs, unless super advanced to the point of being like magic, tend to be painful. Or at least I imagine them to be weird graftings of bodyparts or whatever, or other painful procedures.

I tend to imagine magic is better and can be more easily made to feel however one wants. >_>

Pain can be kinda fun in a story setting where the tf is supposed to be humiliating or out of place.... Of course pleasure is more fun to write about ^_^
