Yeah, I hear you on that. I'm not all too well-known and even I get more views on journals. It may have something to do with watching a lot of people giving you a fraction of a percent of journals compared to submissions. I imagine people are more included to clear out their submission alerts. Ah well, if the journal thing doesn't work well for me, I'll totally adopt your approach. :D

i actually work backwards. Maybe it's because i'm more of a visual kind of guy D: I usually just nuke all the journals and pay all my attention to submissions. But then again i'm super picky with who i watch D:

Yeah, I'm watching ~600 as opposed to your ~150. I was thinking of cutting my list down - no offense to any of them, I've watched them all for one reason or another. I just can't handle this many right now, I'm too busy, y'know? I think it's definitely a good idea to announce important things in submissions though - it certainly works for YCHs and auctions. >>

idk if it'll be better? .. Maybe if you instruct people how to use RSS and email alerts for it since I'm pretty sure you can't do that easily for FA journals?

Admittedly, I don't really get as many comments on journals as I do for pics I submit in my gallery...but then again, I'm not really well-known/popular/etc. either, so I expect as much. :b

Usually, when I make journals these days, it's either to advertise/journal-pimp artists and/or the art raffles they do every now and then in order to participate in said raffles or to offer a general update on life and or what's going on for me inside and outside of FA and what to expect soon in terms of pics being submitted, etc.

Huh, i thought i had deleted that site already. I don't take "regular" commissions anymore, only sketch commissions that happen on monthly streams. I announce those one week in advance, so keep an eye for those :D
