Not expecting any replies. Just putting this here because it's the easiest way for me to keep the information at the moment for when I call insurance tomorrow.

Car accident, traveling on I-81S near mile marker 138.6, stopped car near mile 138.5. Suspect hitting deer at approximately 3:10am. Call was made to Virginia State Police at 3:14am after checking damage to car and walking back a ways to see if there was something in the road or on the shoulder that I may have clipped. No sign of animal/car/etc.
Patrol car showed up approximately 3:40am. Officer believes it was a deer as well, though there is no sign of blood or fur on the car. No injury to driver (me), and insufficient damage to the car to take write up an official report. Car deemed drivable by police officer after removing the plastic insert from the front-right wheel-well and placed in the trunk. Other damage includes missing piece of front-right fender, broken turn-signal and misaligned headlight as well as cracked windshield-washer fluid tank. No serious damage to hood or side of the car.

Calling parents after sleep to let them know, and figure out what they want to do with insurance (report first, or get estimate then call).
