Further Confusion 2014
After some talks with a few close friends, I'm now debating attending FC2014, or... any other edition of Further Confusion.
Don't get me wrong, it's not because I don't love the con, because I do, but I can't defend spending a couple thousand of dollars on a convention when I'm barely able to save up for surgery. And while conventions are greatly beneficial for me, surgery will be a great step towards mental health recovery.
With that said I'm also debating attending any con at all before I can get surgery. I feel like attending cons will just push d-day for longer than it should. It's been too long already.
The other reasoning behind attending a different con is my interest in branching out. While CATSing and fursuiting have both been kind to me, I'd like to get into cosplaying, and I feel like a con where I can do all of it at once would be best suited to my needs.
So, with all of this in mind, my next tentative convention will be DC*2014.
If things change, I'll be sure to give you a heads up.
Much love, miss you all deeply.

We love you honey, but we totally understand cons are a lot of money.
I would miss you if you couldn't attend, but you should never feel obligated to go just because of friends or tradition or whatever. Besides, why pidgeon-hole yourself with one con? You could be missing out on a bunch of other great cons :D
I actually have attended very few furry cons, just Further confusion, Anthrocon, Rainfurrest and Fur-eh
My plan was to try out a few new ones next year ^_^
However if I did have to suggest a furry con, I would say Rainfurrest, it's a nice intimate con. Big enough to be fun with lots of people, but not so big you feel alienated.
I'll keep and eye on rainfurrest!
I've sort of gotten old hat for comic cons. When I was younger I loved them, but when my hubby and I started our comic store and began vending at cons, we noticed how samey they all are: same vendors, same product, same people at EVERY con. It was nice to catch up with some of the vendors and chat, but the "oh shiny!" appeal of the con wears off when you are at the other end of the table.
The only comic con I do with any regularity is San Diego Comic Con, but I admit I mostly go for the masquerade since it's good press to get on stage and maybe win an award. I am doing dragon con this year, so I'll keep you posted on the awesomeness :D
