An FAQ about the Fat Bunny Trading Card Game:
Many people have asked about
fatbunnytcg and how you can get the cards, how you can submit cards, and how you can play the game. Below are some common questions received about the game:
You guys have a Fat Bunny Game now? WOW! Where can I get the starter pack/booster packs?
Actually, it doesn’t quite work that way. There are (currently) no packs available for the trading card game. Instead, cards must be obtained individually from the artists. All of the official FBTCG cards are listed on the official game site (
fatbunnytcg), where each artist is indicated. You must ask the artist directly how you can obtain one of their cards. There are two reasons for this:
1) To make sure the artist gets paid for their work.
We’re not looking to take profit away from the wonderfully talented people who are contributing to this project. By not offering a starter/booster deck, ALL of the profit goes directly to the artist of the card. Generally cards go for about $2.00, but it’s really up to the artist to determine how much they cost.
2) It inspires the collectibility aspect of the game.
This is a collectible card game. It’d be really easy to play if the cards were just handed to you. You’ll feel more accomplished when you really do “have them all", so to speak.
THE FAQS!
1) THIS IS SO COOL! Can you please make my character into a fat bunny card? I’ll do anything to get into the game!!!
Yes and no. We have a template for people to make their own custom cards to show off their characters or for house-ruled cards. It will look similar to the FBTCG template, but there will be a couple of design features that will distinguish the “official cards” from custom-made cards. Custom-made cards that use the FBTCG template MAY NOT be sold for profit. You may, however, use it for personal use if you like. Also, if your design is inspiring enough, we may ask you to become an official card distributor, or ask if you’d like to create an official card for the game. (See more below.) We will not use or sell anyone’s cards without permission, so we ask that you treat the templates we provide in a similar manner.
2) Where and how do I submit my art piece to be entered into the contest?
Simply send an FA mail to
fatbunnytcg (this account), a small one-paragraph description of the piece and it will include giving us a link to the piece (and it has to be YOUR piece) so we can find it on your FA page. Make sure you are using the template posted as well as making sure you read EVERYTHING on this FAQ page. (Again, we will know if you had or not.)
3) Oh, so, how do I become an official distributor/have my card become official?
Right now, we’re handpicking artists to draw official cards. Part of the reason why we’re doing this is to limit the number of cards being produced so that as more cards come out, they can get the attention they deserve. To do this, we’re releasing them in small batches. If you would like to be involved, please send a note to
fatbunnytcg with a link to the picture you’d like to make an official card, and some ideas as to what the card will do/how the character will function. (Please see the guidelines: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/3721030/ for game rules on this page for an understanding of how the game is played before making a rules suggestion for your card.) If your card/idea isn’t picked right away, don’t be discouraged. I promise it’s not a reflection of your talent or creativity, we’re only pulling a couple artists per batch. Once you send the note, we will add you to the list. (Likewise, repeated requests WILL result in us not picking you. Just be courteous, and you’ll be fine.)
The other thing to consider is that this week we are doing a contest for fan-submitted cards to possibly become official cards. More information about this is below, but when you submit your contest submission, you have to include the word “carrotcake” somewhere in your description. This is to ensure you’ve read the FAQ about FBTCG. Any entry that doesn’t contain this word somewhere in the entry description will not be considered. (It doesn’t need to be on the card, just the submission description.)
Please direct any other questions to
dutch or
sheppymomma about FBTCG if this page or the information on
fatbunnytcg (this page) doesn’t answer your question.
