Broken AI in Skyrim, please halp D:

So Esbern is broken. I had that glitch were when you first meet him, he doesn't open the door. WELP turns out, he can't TALK either.
He just stands there with THIS stupid look on his face. I've sat there and waited, I've tried murdering him with the console then reviving him,
I've tried reseting his AI! NOTHING WORKS. I can't proceed through the main quest. Anyone know how to fix him?
