Post AC Report: Day Four, Sunday
The excitement and awesomeness of Saturday eventually had to give way to Sunday. Sunday was perhaps the most relaxed of the days at AC. Like the day before, I slept in a bit, woke up, and quickly got ready for the day. I do believe I was still riding that high from the night before, but I still felt a melancholy feeling in the air. I suppose because it was the last day, some folk were beginning to leave, and stuff like that. I was determined to enjoy the day nonetheless, however.
The day began with a quick trip down to the Dealer’s Den again, but I actually didn't go into the Dealer’s Den because I remembered a meet up of Florida Furs was happening that morning. So I temporarily abandoned my Canadian friends and went to go see if there were any interesting furs from my home state. Slas was there too, because he’s also from Florida. The meeting was rather uneventful, but it was interesting. There was talk of Megaplex, which was happening a few weeks after AC. Honestly, I might have gone to Megaplex if I hadn't first heard of it a few weeks before and had planned for it, but I hadn't. There were some interesting folk there, but they were mostly from Central and South Florida, and I live in the panhandle. For those who don’t know, Florida is a big state, so those folk weren't exactly local. Still though, I thought it was time well spent.
Following the Florida Furs meet, I knew my friends were interested in seeing the fursuit dance finals. This was surprisingly entertaining. Well, I didn't really know what to expect, but damn was it impressive seeing the ways people could move in suit. Mostly the music consisted of something with a heavy beat, a good bass, and an up tempo. I suppose that’s because you can’t really show any subtle movements in a suit, so you gotta be very expressive, and that’s the sort of music that fits it. Props to the dancer who the step routine. That was cool. I forget who all was in the competition or who won. I’m horrible with names. But it was entertaining, and I’m sure the winner deserved it.
After the dance competition, my friends and headed to the Dealer’s Den for real this time. Plus, it was gonna close early, and we wanted to see if there were any cool deals that might happen. Also, I needed to pick up my character design commission from Fable. We did a quick walkthrough the den before heading to the Artist Alley one more time, because things were almost closed. I know kehei was looking to pick up a badge he commissioned.
I found Fable there, and she was excited to see me. Probably because she was worried I wouldn't come before the place closed for me to pick up the commission, but I did, so all was good. The commission was sitting on the table, and I was excited to see what she had come up with. What I got was a cute little skunk character to call my own, and it turned out awesome, I think. To be honest, I didn't really expect to inspire a skunk character, but in way it fits. You can see final product here, where I talk about it more: (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11272621/). I was happy with the commission, and Fable and I chatted some more, and it was fun.
We all headed back to the room after the Dealer’s Den and Artist Alley. By this time, the Sunday Blues were starting to set in more. There wasn't much to do at that point. There was the closing ceremony happening in the evening, but none of us really wanted to go. I didn't really feel like it because I knew it would make me sad that the events were coming to an end. Instead, we decided to be friends and hang out.
Kehei, Drek, and I went out for a bit of a walk into Pittsburgh. We decided to grab some pizza. We found a Domino’s not too far away which was, ironically enough, underneath or in the same building of the headquarters of GNC. We ordered our food and waited, discussed the latest news happenings, and other such things. We took our food back to the room where we ate it. It was good, probably because I was near starving by that point.
After that, Kehei and I decided that we’d go to the pool one more time. We did, but we didn't stay long. The pool was rather popular, if I recall correctly. So we got out, tried the sauna and steam room, but those were also in use. It was a very short trip to the pool, and we headed back up to the room to chill.
We chilled for a while before looking for this dance we heard was happening that night. However, it never really opened. So we would wander about the hotel, talk to folk, and kill time. Drek and I spent some time outside the hotel, because it was a very pleasant and cool evening. There were some folk outside from Twilight’s group the night before. Drek chatted with them, and I stuck around. One of the group was turning 21 at midnight, and we were all waiting around for the clock to strike 12 so he could have his first legal shot of alcohol. A brilliant place to celebrate such a milestone, no?
It was a very nice evening, out there. It was perhaps the quietest and most quaint part of the whole trip. I liked that. It allowed me to reflect on my time there. And, yeah, there were the melancholy feelings of great things coming to an end, but it happens.
The night wasn't yet over. My friends and I, we hung out in the Zoo because, well, we didn't know what else to do. We got invited to a game of Cards Against Humanity, and we played to see which one of us was the most horrible person there. It’s a fun game, especially when you get things like AIDS being the new fad diet. Oh, that’s horrible. But it’s hilarious. We played a good amount of time before we decided that it was time to call it a night. We headed up to our room, where we relaxed, and went to sleep soon after.
All that was left was Monday, and our journeys home. I was originally gonna toss it into this journal, but I realized that this has already grown to quite the text wall. So I shall make the journey home the final chapter in my Post AC Report. And then I can get around to posting other journal posts! Yay.
