I'm such an ass; UPDATED.
17 years ago
General
Well, I basically copypasta-d my old journal again, but I'm also adding new information to the minute few that actually care.
NEW:
Seeing as my MSN is full of people who either;
A. DON'T talk to me/ignore me. OR
B. Are NEVER ONLINE,
I AM MAKING A NEW MSN ACCOUNT. I'm only adding about a TENTH of my contacts, and the rest can pretty much go to hell. ^.-.^
If anyone wants to still keep in touch with me that isn't added to my new MSN (which I would be money on that being a no), Note me.
I'm sorry I have to do this, but when you've got a little over 100 contacts and you only talk to MAYBE 15 OF THEM, it's a LOT easier to just make a new account instead of going through and deleting/possibly blocking the remaining 80.
OLD:
I have come to the conclusion after being in the furry fandom for roughly 4-5 years; dragons as a whole seem to have a pretty significant inferiority complex issue.
Some even go so far as to think of all other furries or scalies as inferior (dragonkin, if you want the technical term). I can honestly say out of the 12-16 dragon anthros I've met and known over these 4+ years, only FOUR consider all furries and scalies equal. And that's just the ones I've gotten to know; I've looked at a dozen more dragons' journals and responses and one of them seemed to be halfway decent, or even only slightly arrogant, for that matter.
I admit that this isn't a super-accurate ratio, and I am by no means saying every dragon anthro is a high-and-mighty asshole; I'm just saying there's a disturbingly-high amount that ARE. Which brings me to the second and final topic.
FROM HERE ON, I AM NO LONGER A DRAGON. This does NOT mean I am changing any of my physical appearance (other than removing the wings and possibly adding some minor things); I am simply sick of being a part of the dragon species, mainly because of how other furries are treated by them, and therefore are expecting to be treated by me.
One more thing; if you're going to bitch about my reasons or anything, I'll be happy to bitch right back. Thanks! ^.-.^

Some might be dragonkin for different reasons - some I've noticed said in other places - some might do it to belong for someone, some might do it for a thrill. Others might do it because they don't like their life, get themselves to think they're a dragon, and since they're suddenly something better than before (in their mind), they think they're better than others, especially because in STORIES, dragons are normally a "mean", "evil", and "superior", where they demand sacrifices and other things. Dragons are regarded as that or just really noble and high and mighty - mix people who associate with them, and you're bound to see the assholes that try to say they're better than others.
Some who might be a fox or something might actually be real cunning or able to slip through trouble or something. Snakes? They normally are associated with mean people, misunderstood, smart-asses, or just people who can get into trouble or other stuff. And chances are a good handful of "snakes" (otherkin or fursona wise) are in that "stereotype". I won't try to stop you, but I think it's silly to "not be a dragon" cause of that. If you put it that way (again no offense), you could essentially say "I'm no longer a human, cause I'm sick of how the other humans are treated by them, and etc...". The majority of humans tend to be complete assholes. WHether they're part of criminals or "good guys", we don't know, but most of us make stupid choices and act dumb and idiotic. That in mind, chances are that large fandoms/groups/religions/cliques/whatevers would have mostly idiots/radicals in them, and chances are that each sub group (dragons in furries or otherkin) have mostly idiots. You can't really escape it, although the smaller the group gets the more idiots you might encounter.
That doesn't mean that I hate all dragons period; one of my best furry friends IS a dragon anthro.
I've honestly been debating on whether to stay a dragon or not for almost a year, not just because of what I've seen in most dragons, but because I didn't feel like I was being honest to myself and others being a dragon. I felt like I was pretending to be a completely different person...Believe it or not, Vincent LaMuerte Oroscoe is like the real me with a different body. His history, while completely fictional and quite sci-fi, is largely based on my real past experiences. If you would like I can show you the condensed (but still very descriptive) history of Vincent LaMuerte Oroscoe, along with how it is related to what I've dealt with. I honestly should put it up somewhere... >.-.<
I probably sound stupid saying this, but I honestly felt like I stopped wearing the clothes I do (camo cargo pants, black T-shirts with skulls or designs that most would consider goth, or band tees) And listening to the music I do (death metal/metalcore/psytrance/techno) and started dressing like a wigger and listening to rap music (which I despise). The same goes with my scalesona; I wouldn't feel right if I was a dragon anymore, simply because it didn't fit me.
Sorry for the long-winded response. >.-.<;
