Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice...
Beautiful on the outside, but a total fucking mess on the inside.
My worst fear came to pass today. Right after I had gotten some new tires put on (the ones that it came with were in desperate need of replacement), the head gasket blew catastrophically.
Right now, I'm looking at a few options. First, take it to a mechanic for a professional gasket replace and hope the head isn't cracked. Cost, about 1400. Second, get a gasket kit and DIY for about 200. ... and the option that scares me the most, if the head is cracked... order a new engine and have it put in... for around 2K.
I feel so fucked right now it's not funny.

This I know. It's why I'm calling in favors with friends, family and friends of family who have experience with this type of thing. A few are certified mechanics.

You might check around for a used engine, with a 30 day warranty usually. Maybe the easiest and quickest way. Get it apart and see if the heads are ok and go from there.
