Mine did that and I was without it for two weeks. Though when I turned mine on it made this terrible loud beeping noise @u@
My dad had to buy a new screen and wires since there's like a million things in the screen and it still didn't work =u= but then he said he was messing with it and it just came back on.

Well mine isn't making any weird noises, just makes the usual start up noises.

Still might be the screen.
I'm not sure what laptop you have but apparently Dell, or some Dells, have like a list of codes. 1 beeps means this, 2 means that and so on xD

Though since yours is still making noise and the screen just doesn't even light up it sounds like just the screen.
Buying a new screen for mine was $65 I think (it would probably be different there), but that was definitely cheaper than buying a new computer... It's just a matter of finding someone to install it for you @u@
