Commissions question
Oh this is my 1st journal. o:
Anyway I'm not sure what to price my commissions. Could someone suggest what would be a fair price for something like http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11336230/ or http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11336243/ ? And by a fair price I mean something you would be happy to pay, but not saying it for the sake of getting it as low as possible. : P I just want to hear peoples opinions.
Oh and perhaps something like this http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11178345/ (without bg) too.
I want to work on my normal drawings more before I do them as coms.
I'm asking this on Furaffinity because the prices on deviantart are ridiculous..I see loads of amazing artists selling their work for like £1 (in points). :/

Are the pixel art things any bigger and resized down or is that the size they are made? If they aren't too much work, I guess $5(the magic number for a lot of buyers I think). Is it fair? I can't say. It's only worth what you can get people to pay for it.
Anyway, I think the best prices are ones that reflect what it takes you to finish such a piece. Though, by offering lower priced commissions, you can get more of your current audience buying them and potentially attracting more attention (and buyers) that way. :>
Me, I love all things retro but sprites are just super-low-fi versions of drawings. Sprites can be done fantastically with the right style and palette but most people seem to use them like an extension of their normal drawing style, which sort of cheapens them in my eyes. If the pixel art is just like a low-fi version of a normal drawing, I'd rather have the normal drawing. Maybe.. $10 for a sprite, but I feel like $15-20 is more fair for a character drawing.
If you do open for commissions, I'll certainly buy if the price is right~ ^^
Yes, that's seems like the best idea.
I've never thought of it like that! I tend to prefer to get a pixel from someone than a normal drawing, but that's because I've really gotten into pixel art lately. I see what you mean though!
I think $10 would be too much, I'd charge lower. Thankyou though!
I'd see how long it takes to draw them and then decide on a price per hour which you think is worth it. It's best to charge more then minimum wage since art isn't just something anyone can do (like working in mcdonalds). About £5 per hour is a reasonable price.
Thankyou! I've never thought of it like that. :v
