Potential Design Contest; Advice Needed!

So this is kind of a strange one, but...
I'll try to keep this short so I don't TL;DR everyone XD
Although I've always viewed Lakota as just the online representation of myself, she actually DOES have a backstory. She has a family, a history, and so forth.
I've recently started to try and flesh out her family members and actually give them shape and form beyond "lol a wolf". I know what her mom looks like, and her grandfather, more or less. I'll deal with her biological dad's appearance later. LOL SPOILERS XD
I've started hammering out an appearance for her adoptive dad, but I can't figure out his face/head, and it's KILLING ME. NOTHING I have come up with makes me happy, and her adoptive dad's appearance is very, very important to me, on a very personal level. It has to really resonate with me, and I know it sounds bizarre that I'd be asking someone ELSE to design something for me, something that I want to speak to me on a "personal" level, but I think I'm -- ooookay I'm starting to get a little transcendental here XD Let's just say that I think I've got a bit of a psychological block on the dad's face, and nothing has made me happy so far, so I need some fresh ideas.
So I'm wondering: is it weird to have a design contest... JUST for a character's head? XD
I'd be asking for markings/fur colors/eyes/shapes/etc., basically the whole shebang. I've got the color scheme and markings for the rest of his body already, but I'm also not opposed to people making a whole new character design for him either, actually.
I'd be offering money as a prize, with a potential "grand prize" larger amount if someone wants to tackle the full "whole new character design" route, but I'm going to be pretty picky there and it's pretty unlikely I'd pick a whole new design unless something really wowed me. XD
I was thinking something like $20 for the face-only design, and $50 for the grand prize? Does that seem right, or ludicrous one way or the other? XD Any thoughts, advice, or rotten-egg-throwing is appreciated :3
ADDED NOTE:
There would also probably be a later second "design contest" to help design Lakota's 3 younger siblings - they're actually her half-siblings. They're the offspring of her biological mother and her adoptive dad - so that's why they can't be designed until her adoptive dad is designed, as their markings and fur colors would possibly be somewhat dependent on dad's design XD So if you're interested in helping design those younger siblings as well (two girls and a boy), keep an eye out :D
