I <3 guns.
My dream guns are the M14, the M24,and the Cheytac M 400. :3
I wouldn't mind having a 50cal of some sort as well, but these would make great starters. x3
I like swords better. granted they're not as useful, but I find more amusing destroying things close up rather than blasting them. Besides, they're much cheaper, specially if you consider that you won't be spending on ammo.
granted I dont own one, but I will some day, maybe a zweihander or a nodachi. lovely large blades...
Pffft if someone comes at me on the street with a talwar, or even a switchblade, what kind of defense do I have against it? The only way you can fight off a blade-armed opponent WITHOUT a blade of equal size is if you train for hours a day + real world applications training. VERY few people have the patience or even the time to commit to that.
The way I see it there's plenty of defense against firearms:
-Understanding how people aim
-Understanding what bodily movements help throw off a person's aim (ie. running in a zigzag line)
-Understanding that guns lose their effectiveness and become more random at close ranges (ie. an assailant can shoot himself)
-Knowing how to disarm someone who has a gun at close ranges
-If you have your own firearm, being more skilled at aiming, keeping the gun steady, being able to fire multiple, accurate shots in sequence and being able to reload quickly, all under pressure give you a SERIOUS edge over a firearmed opponent
-Lastly, don't piss off people who likely own guns and have no contentions with using them on you
Honestly, if someone wants to kill you, they don't need a gun to do it, and there's VERY little chance that you'll be able to adequately fight back even if he just has a knife, or even no weapon at all but throws a stranglehold on you from behind out of nowhere.

It depends where you live.
In middle America, guns are great. There isn't a high density crime and poverty issue, guns aren't a big deal. In an inner city area, or places like Panama, guns are a pain in the ass since more of the wrong people have them, and law enforcements treats all weapon possession as a crime.
I do want one though. I want a 50 calibur pistol, a 16 round magazine filled with anti-tank rounds. (You know, for getting back at drive-by shooters)
Dude that gun sounds like overkill! :O I think the best way to deal with drive-by shooters would first to NOT piss off people capable of pulling one off (It's quite simple really, all you need is a car, a gun, and a friend). Second, I think a submachine gun or pistol would be better. Lots of smaller bullets and less recoil lets you take out tires more easily, once that's done spray the driver and the gunner(s) will probably be too scared to do anything since they weren't expecting you to fight back.
....You ever notice that about school gangsters? Once you start fighting back you realize the majority of them CAN'T fight without 3 guys backing them up?
Well, it's sorta a hard subject for me... I feel like I'm a bit on both sides, and it makes me feel like a hypocrite.
On one hand, I think guns are pretty cool. I really like them in fantasy, and I have a soft spot for older WWI/WWII era firearms, particularly Mausers. Revolvers too. On the other hand, I really don't like real violence all too much, and I just don't believe in guns. Have your right to have them, cause I don't want to take them away from people.
Guns are okay, but I feel that most people aren't responsible enough to own them, and only do so because of a fascination with how cool they are.
It's also a pretty bad sign when somebody is so taken with guns that their entire political worldview is based around the paranoid perception that some people will take their precious guns away.
I think it'd be best if you just fucked off. I'm not going to argue with a furry on the internet about this, especially with you, or on somebody else's journal. Go pick fights with somebody who has time to waste on people like you.
I thought Obama didn't like guns.
Me, I'm one of the best shots I know except for my grandfather. Like guns, but can't say I love guns, just like them. I could tell you the difference between a rifle and a pistol just by the sound though.
I went to a shooting range recently and used an assault rifle, machine gun (MP5), a Glock, a sniper rifle, and a shotgun. I blew up a wooden cabniet with the shotgun^^

Reason I ask is that according to many young people today, guns are cowardly an do nothing but kill! :O
The FN2000 how ever seems to be made of awesome. They even have a version with a computer controlled firing system.
But yeah...I can tell :)
Also, squirrels are awesome, dont let anyone ever tell you otherwise.

no real defense to them that's why i dun like em. if your gonna kill someone i think they should be given a fighting chance. . .
i prefer swords, daggers, and knives more.

I will however go to great lengths to protect a US Citizens right to own a gun, period.

my friend hates guns because it symbolizes death or murder or something.... lol :]
