A friend and brother that will be missed
Let me start this story from its beginning. A roommate of mine and I went out to the local bar to listen to up and coming locals try to get into the music business. At the show I had met some local kids that were 19 and 20, while I was at the time 21. Unbeknownst to me this person at the very least a kind of guy you wouldn't want your daughters to ever date. After about a few months of running amuck we parted ways.
After a few years, we met back up and lived in an apartment as roommates. Some unfortunate events had taken place with one of our other roommates who had lied to us about rent money which in turn got us evicted. I had no choice but to move back into my mothers house for the remainder of my time. This person had no where to go other than under the bridge, so I had asked if he could live with us until he got back on his feet, since he had been there once when I needed it most (the passing of my father just after he had moved in).
It's been almost seven years that he's lived with my family. Just recently gotten married, and is moving to the other side of the state to live with his wife. I sit here thinking on what i'm imparting to anyone who reads this. That even the smallest actions can impact a life. Turning someone what society would consider worthless and no hope, no future, to a person with principles, integrity and a chance for success. This person who is my brother and friend will be missed in this quiet house.
