I did it.

I just pierced my right nipple and now all i need is a ring to go in there. I don't know what they are called but me and my cousin called them gauges( they were kind of like hoops with a screw on ball or spike at both openings.
Yes, you can.
fun fact:
Gauges aren't actually the jewellery, they are the size (for instance my ears are a 0 gauge while my lips are a 16 and my septum is a 14)
People sometimes use the word 'gauges' a lot to describe people who's ears are bigger than a 18 (standard earring) but technically that just means the size rather than the jewellery....I should stop I could go on for hours with this and I'm getting a little irrelevant, but if you are curious about the proper names for everything let me know :P
I'd suggest a 14g horse shoe. You can get them at spencers and hot topic, or probably even wal mart.
Did you pierce it yourself? What did you use? Depending on the needle a 16g might be better/
If you went to a tattoo shop they probably would have used a bigger gauge needle :p
you can always try stretching it when it heals if you wanna go any bigger.
Be very careful also. I'd never suggesty DIY with piercings (and I have 7 and counting haha) I've seen lots of bad stories of infections and other medical problems because of it. Was the needle sterilized?
For after car I'd suggest mixing 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt in 1C of warm water and apply it 3 times a day for about 10-15 min.
Just make sure to keep it clean, infections on the nips are the worst ;3;
I'd def reccommend going to a tattoo shop if you ever decide to get anymore piercings just because they have all the proper equipment and sanitize everything, plus you wanna make sure everything is semetrical and such.
Good luck! Hope it didn't hurt too much.
it didnt hurt too much counting i had my nipple iced during the process.
and as for symmetry its almost completely horizontal.
