So today my family and I drove to province town, which is known to have a large gay community. We went there to do some window shopping and have dinner, but unfortunately seeing the pride flags and lesbian and gay advertising on the streets brought out my mothers anti-gay christian beliefs. Its just so infuriating to see the dirty looks and snarky comments she gives about same sex couples. I'm amazed at how someone can harbor so much hatred and so many discriminatory beliefs for two HUMAN BEINGS who are engaged in a same sex relationship. Its just disgusting to imagine how someone can feel good about putting others down.

It's weird. Today in my seminar we were actually having a discussion on same sex couples and what is the deal with the psychological hatred towards it. Besides the fear of change in general, a recent study suggested that people who are so against gays sometimes don't even see them as human beings in general, but almost like a different species. It's weird and disgusting and tbh I can't stand it. That's why whenever anyone gets annoying about it with me or talks about how much they cant stand it, I always get right back in their face about and be like WATCH OUT I'M SPREADING MY SPECIES' GERMS ON YOU. YOU MIGHT GET INFECTED.
