I'm reeeeally nervous now.

Apparently there's an event going on at my school that I just found out about today, called "Battle of the Spinners". It's basically a competition for producers/DJs to play their stuff to an audience for 15 minutes while getting evaluated by judges or whatever, and whoever WINS the competition gets an opportunity to preform during the "Sting Break" (hurf durf) concert festival held by my college next semester. I would love that sort of opportunity.
The only problem being I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING Q_Q
I've never DJ'd before.
I've never done a live performance before.
My only piece of hardware is my midi controller which I don't even have right now (long story), and even if I did I don't know how to use it still.
I have some ideas and maybe a few people I can ask for help with planning my performance, but, ugh. I'm really nervous right now with if I can pull it all off amongst all my other college work.

I don't know much, but you could compile 15m worth of your tracks into a mix without using hardware (like a program), then set some simple things to your MIDI pad to improv a bit while the songs are already playing. It's like cheap DJing, but it's all your stuff. It's also what Nullsleep did when he came to my city for a concert. Or if you can just submit the mix if you don't want to perfom, and if that's an option.
I'd be floored if someone started playing glitch at a school event, when everyone else ran hip-hop, trance, house, or crap like that. :3
Good luck with that, though~ I'd like to get into DJing, but I don't have any original songs.

Also, when is the competition?
Also also, don't you already have enough kick-ass music to be able to fill 15 minutes? What are you worried about? I'm sure you'll do well!
P.S.: Why can't something like this happen at MY school! T.T
I'm worried because I don't want to play a premade mix of my stuff and that's that. I want to be able to have a hand in the sound while it's playing, be it playing a synth on my midi controller or controlling filter effects or whatever. I've never done that before though :[
