My old Jr. High principal has a daughter. (I will not be naming names, just to respect privacy).

She had severe severe mental disability, and was prone to angry outbursts. Almost always against her mother. In fact, she had managed to send her mother to the hospital at least twice. They finally decided, enough was enough, let's get our daughter into some therapy.

The therapy was working very, very well, so ALL they needed to do was continue therapy via the middle school, which the girl attended.

The woman who essentially ran the special needs classes flat out crossed her arms and convinced the school board to bar the daughter from any classes at that school, simply because she didn't like the fact that the mother of this girl was arguing with her about how to teach.

Yesterday... The mother and her daughter were found in a car with two charcoal grills burning, filling the car with smoke. The mother attempted to kill herself and her daughter.

They are both in a hospital in my home state, not too far from my current town.

The mother is in good condition. She is arrested and is going to be charged for attempted murder. The daughter, doctors fear, is going to have permanent brain damage. On top of EVERYTHING ELSE she has going on.

So instead of things being difficult but persevering as a family... This woman's two other daughters are going to be without their mom for a very, very long time.

And what of the husband? God knows what he's going through now. And of the woman who denied the girl rights to classes at that school? God knows if she has any guilt over the situation or not.

So... Now, we just sit, and wait, to see what happens.
