Yo from RoPo!
Hello, FBA Fans!
I've been up late the last few nights trying to come up with some big updates for WikiFBA, and I've gotten some good results! As of tonight, every player that was active in the 2012-2013 season now has a page complete with a fully detailed infobox with all the major stats, including contract information!
So, go check it out! Now that WikiFBA is going to be our main site, you can reach it by just going to
http://furrybasketball.com
And start searching for your favorite players! You'll notice something, though... most of the players don't have pictures. Well, we need to fix that, and this is where I need your help!
Every character's page in Wikipedia has been programmed to link to an image called the player's name. So like, Buck Hopper is Buck_Hopper.jpg and Zoie Wilds is Zoie_Wilds.jpg. For the names with weird characters like Jakub Lyška, you just simplify it to Jakub_Lyska.jpg.
So, if you go into WikiFBA and select "Upload file" on the lefthand sidebar, you'll come to a page where you can upload artwork to the site. Just upload your favorite piece of artwork of any player, make sure the name of it in "Destination filename" is in the right format (That whole Buck_Hopper.jpg) thing above, write in a credit for whoever drew the pic, and upload!
If everything goes well, it should automatically appear on that player's page. The page will even resize the pic for the infobox, so it doesn't matter how big or small the art you pose is!
If it doesn't pop up, it may be because you uploaded a PNG or something other than a JPG. If you do that, all you need to do is edit the page and change the "image" tag in the "Infobox FBA biography" template to the proper filename. If you're not able to do that, don't worry! I'll find it on my own and make the correction!
But it would be a huge help if I could get all of you to help upload these pictures into the site. Thank you so much for helping out!!!
And still, be sure to come to the meeting this coming Sunday, September 8th at 3:00pm Pacific (UTC-7)!! We WILL be assigning General Managers this weekend, and we WILL get free agency kicked off! Going to be exciting next week!!

Also, if we have pictures of draft candidates, will they appear the same as pictures of active players?
Draft candidates do not have a default picture link; their page will need to be edited to include the filename of the picture.
(I've still been working on finishing my penciled FBA icon sketches in the Team Gallery. Colored ones should start popping up in the near future. ^^)
Regardless, Google Docs is not going away anytime soon-- there's so much information there right now, and we're going to need to use it in some fashion in the future. However, when it comes to rosters and player facts, WikiFBA is going to be the new master document. Google Docs will still exist and have information, but if there's any conflict between the two, WikiFBA will be considered canon.
He is now officially Dennis Xabbu. Commissioner's orders.
Once we have things well settled, I should be able to start exporting the entire FBA player catalog as an XML that can be edited, then re-uploaded for any mass changes. That's the plan, anyway. But for right now, draft candidates and current FBA players are using different code.
