For those of you who live in America like myself you lived through the terrible event of 9/11/2001 (assuming most of you were born in the early 90s to be on this site). It has been 12 years since that day when innocent people were killed in mass. I will not comment on who was behind these attacks, as that is still a controversial topic, but I want to make a statement on the people's reaction 12 years later.

I can say with almost no doubt that most of us forgot that today was the anniversary of 9/11. What does that say about us? I feel that it says that, no matter how horrible an act might be, we move on with our lives. We do not let it consume us indefinitely. I feel that that is a positive thing. We have the ability to move on. To keep on with life. And I feel that that is best.

Whoever attacked us meant to make us scared, weaker. But we moved vast the events, not wallowed in the past but loved in the present. It's like we are saying: "You may have commuted a heinous crime against us, but it is nothing compared to our great nation. We will remember those who were lost, but we will go on." And I feel that that is one thing that makes us great.

Of course, I might just be speaking out my ass here. But it's my opinion.
