Sega + Atlus =
Uncertainty.
So I got told interesting news today from my sister that Sega had gone and bought Atlus. Needless to say this caught me by surprise and had me off on some CSI styled investigations. Turns out she was right. Sega is in the process of purchasing Atlus' parent corporation, known as Index Corporation.
So...what does that mean? Basically...Sega now has full say on cult classics like SMT, Persona and every other unique game Atlus has made along the way.
Is this a good thing? To me...I won't know until I see (or lack there of if Sega becomes an ass) what the next couple of "Atlus" based games are released. If those series remain true, then I have no qualms. If not...then they'll be heading down the line of other companies that have unfortunately ruined their creations.
Now...let's see if a game is released where Sonic based characters must go to high school, fight Shadows and demons to save the world while forming social links and relationships. *dusts my Evoker and readies it for use if this should happen*

I have no qualms either if they mess SMT games up...but well, if they do, which will unfortunately most likely be the case...I can't say a lot of people will be happy, at all.
For me though, I don't want to see everything that makes Atlus so unique and GOOD in the gaming world suddenly stop because of this. If we suddenly see a drop in SMT and Persona styled games coming over, amongst other unique Atlus titles like even SRW based games (as rare as those are) then I'll be extremely disappointed.
i remember their games being OKAY so ...sega has had a few pretty good titles lately so it might not be so bad
I will agree to that though. Sega has made a few gems in the past couple years, and some of those are games I highly enjoy (Valkyria Chronicles for starters.) Once they actually release something new or recent though I'll at least have a chance to know how I really feel.
