My apologies, all. I accidentally deleted this journal by editing over it. Now all we'll have to remember it by is the comments. I feel like an internet grandma. ):

11. This.
11. It's funny because I go against this advice constantly!
#2 is crazy insightful. I remember reading your name and thinking, "That's a real word, isn't it?" Looked it up then and there. It's nice to know the reasoning behind your decision. I like knowing why people make choices like that.
Also I enjoyed reading this!
2) Always wondered exactly how religious your name was intended to be. Interesting to read how you came about it.
5) Never knew about the old account. Took a little look see, and I think it's amazing how your work has progressed over the years. I can see some vague resemblance in a few of your older pieces to your current style, but overall, you've really transformed your work since then. Really incredible. :) Although I do like that old Lucille Ball picture quite a bit. ;)
10) Deservedly so. It's among my favorites of yours for the emotion you imbued it with. I think I somehow missed the story behind it, so reading the caption was interesting as well.
12) Amen.
14) So that's a 'no' then? ;_; (yes, I'm totally joking. no awkward intended)
17) I definitely understand where you're coming from with this one, and I'm sure a lot of people have felt (or do feel) this way. When i first made my account, I lurked for a long, long while before working up the nerve to submit anything. Even then, I had the intent to keep kind of a partition between my FA and the rest of my internet...world... As it has turned out, I think I've failed spectacularly at that, but that's a whole different story. Seriously, when a Google search by image is all it takes to bridge the gap, it's kinda futile even to try. I like your last line here: "I've since made it a policy to only share on the internet things I could justify the world knowing about me." Great motto to live by in this day and age of social media where it's nigh impossible to hide your tracks online.
Thanks for sharing man. Like I said before, fun read. Thanks for taking the time to give such honest, thought out answers. :) Have a good one.
14) Your character is an SLR with ears and a tail. For you, anything.
Glad you liked reading! <3
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! I'm honored XD
And I guessed your favorite image in your gallery before I clicked on the link - I really like that one too!
And never realized you were 'in' the fandom as long as you have been; thought it was a relatively new thing for you. Shows what I know. :)
I've been associated with the fandom, in some capacity, since about 2004.
MAINTAIN STRINGENT OPSEC. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER. IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH.
I'm finding myself in the middle of some road somewhere, but haven't taken off in any way. I seldom take on/receive offerings for commissions and only recently have been trying to get some wind under my wings.
I wanted to go into animation, since I grew up a child of Newgrounds, but settled for a general art major at Indiana Wesleyan University. My sister, also in attendance, assured me that I wanted to major in illustration (she was right), so I quickly changed my major to that. But I consider illustration to be a detour to animation, a close cousin.
100% of my work is freelance, something I'm trying to change this year. My business was built entirely on the back of furry art. It took about two years of being open for commissions before people decided to hire me regularly. And between furry art, non-furry art, and my wife working three jobs, I barely make ends meet. But that's not always going to be the case.
If you want to make consistence freelance gigs, do relevant sketch examples as freebies to generate attention. Then go here, dA, Tumblr, Reddit, or anywhere else you can cater to fandom/fanart scenes and make your break there. Also, you should check out the Protips linked at the top of my journal, if you haven't yet done so.
Life wise, I'm at the opposite end, still living with mom/dad with no responsibilities other than finishing a graphic design program at the top of my class (so far so good). I used to used FA and DA on a regular basis but over the last few years grew silent and unproductive. These next few years I really want to change that.
I've been trying to reach out beyond furry art, that being the basis of what I drew through my later years of grade school, and its been doing me well, but not so much financially.
I've got many more questions where that came from... you'll likely see them in journals to come.
As somebody that passed his art major by a hundredth of a point, I worry about someone that actually tries to get good art grades in an art major! You should detail that more for me sometime.
