Side note: I was an admin of a mid-sized furry Minecraft server and found that BeastNode's performance was pretty good overall, but had some lag issues, and at one point they lost our entire MySQL database.

i never herd of beast node i just got tyerd of most places i would play would lag out or crash so i got my own dedicated server

BeastNode is the name for one of many different Minecraft server hosts. They basically do all the heavy lifting and the server admin doesn't need to worry about setting up the underlying server hardware and operating system. One disadvantage with it is that if something breaks server-side, you can't do anything until they fix it.

I run my own server hardware for that reason (but the majority of admins can't justify running a datacenter in their home anyway. :P)

I was friends with people on beastnode a while back, when they were only a year into business, and they've been great friends with me. I'll try to work a deal with them for a cheaper high-tier server.

Wait a mi- I was getting on the server and realized it wouldn't show up. Is this a server reset or what you mentioned in the journal? If it's just a reset, then it's taking so freaking long! If it's the other, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Oh, I didn't know it causes the server to shut down.

I'm literally taking files I had from an old host, then putting them on my computer for a long time, then rebuilding it all back on a new host. It's not too difficult; the hard part is getting a new host.

Yeah, that kind of stinks. One time I tried to set up a multiplayer server, but it was a disaster.

let us know when you got an IP, I just tried to log in (before logging into FA, so that should tell you something) and the server was down
