Awesome little true story that just happened to me...

Faith in God pays off...sometimes, literally. :P
So last Sunday our church service was about money, specifically, how to honor God with it. I remember my pastor saying "If you're faithful with your money, I promise you God will reward you."
Fast forward to tonight, I'd just gotten off work and I stopped at a gas station to fill up my car. It cost me about $45, and so I only had about $50 left in my checking account. As soon as I'd finished, a man and his wife (who both looked kinda rough) came up to me and asked me if I could give them a ride to their car and some money for food. I'd heard soooo many stories about bad things happening in those sorts of situations, but I felt led to be a light to them instead of being just like everyone else, so (really really nervously) I offered them a ride. The whole time I was really nervous (I've never had strangers in my car before) and expecting the worst, but still, I felt that call to give. So I pulled up to the ATM and kinda without thinking about it gave them $40, which put me around $10 or so left. I took them to their car (the guy thanked me about once every thirty seconds the whole way there), and they left. I don't know how they used that money - I hope they just used it to get by and didn't waste it - but I did what the Spirit led me to do.
So when I got home I remembered that I had a doctor's appointment tomorrow, and I'd have to pay $25 for the co-pay, which at this point was more than I could afford, so I went and asked my mom if she'd help me out. She handed me a check, and said it was for the co-pay. But when I looked down at it, I noticed that it didn't say $25. Instead, it said $100. So I said "Uh, mom? I only need $25." And she just said "Oh, keep the rest, I'm feeling generous."
And immediately I remembered what my pastor said about God rewarding those who are faithful. I almost cried. Actually a couple of tears escaped. :D

It's great to know God is real and works in wonderful ways. ^^
