The back story on the unification and corruption of the U.E.G. ( Unified Earth Government)
Every 450,000 years the earths magnetic core and dynamo switches polarity.In future not too far from now. A large mantle plume, combined with continental subduction creates the untimely perfect storm that caused the normally 1000-10000 year process to begin to unfold in only 10 years. When the poles change the earth has no real north or south and the magnetic field goes completely awry which can endanger life on earth and disrupt many important instruments. The brilliant minds of China and North America tackled this problem by becoming one government. The combined resources and minds designed an enormous and incredibly powerful electromagnet made to stabilize the tumultuous magnetic field above earth that shielded us (mankind) from deadly solar radiation. The electromagnet was positioned in "old north" and took 3 years to bring the desired result but in the end the magnetic field disaster was averted and the dynamo of the earths core was able to stabilize. China and America were seen as heroes and models for society for putting aside regional differences, and pasts for the greater good of mankind. Now stronger allies than before they created a very wealthy nation of two countries.
This example soon led to provide the world with motivation enough to drop their differences to become a union of world cooperation as a Unified Earth Government (U.E.G.).
The government runs as a oligarchy or a body of elected officials that represent the needs of their nations and continents. The nation state representative of the Americas (south and north) Was extremely revered and respected for his position. His son became a very active and well liked political figure. Well spoken and very persuasive he knew he had a gift to lead people. He also had a secret agenda for power. He paid for a disgruntled Brazilian to poison his fathers ceremonial coffee with poison made in Africa at a meeting in Brazil (the meeting was to address the Brazilian people) ( who unknown to him were being fed false inflammatory information by his son's propaganda minister) His father fell dead quickly and the Brazilian who poisoned the man fled the scene he managed to call his wife and tell her what happened before he was located and gunned down. ( for the treachery the Brazilian was promised a huge payoff and the ability to support his family forever indefinitely) the wife fled with her son to German territory . Soon after his father was "murdered" he presented a forged letter to the people of his father's dying wish to have his son come to power. The support was overwhelmingly in his favor and the U.E.G. could not refuse. Supporters of him in his propaganda team started a civil war in South Africa covertly that cost the lives of millions. Through his persuasive vindication the son managed to convince the people that the uprising ,and ensuing civil war was an attack on mankind and all the U.E.G. stood for and that it was created by the representatives of Asia and Africa in order to provide a distraction to create an army to control the world with. The leaders of Asia and Africa were found guilty ( wrongly) and hanged in public.
The war in Africa involved a lot of planes being used to napalm entire cities. So upon his selection of new leaders for the oligarchy ( members of his propaganda team) they arranged for a punishable by death ban on aircraft of all kinds, in order to " prevent horrible acts like those that occurred in Africa" In reality he wanted to control the world with sheer numbers and man power without air opposition.
He disposed of the other world leaders (who supported the war {with money that he tricked them into donating to the commissioned war}) Upon their disposal he made a government that had four central locations of power. China, Brazil, The old USA territories, and South Africa. This tyrannical empire was to be known as the four corners.
