Yes, Furfright! I'll be there! It's my first con and I'm only going to see a few friends, but if you want to say hi I'll be sure to wave to you awkwardly from across the convention center! I'm going to be super nervous and probably a little awkward so please bear with me. Still got stuff to do beforehand and only got two weeks, jeez! Though I did have a few simple questions:
-Is it worth bringing my laptop? I don't have a smartphone so my laptop is my only portal to the internet, but it'd be cumbersome to pack and I don't want to worry about it. Is internet access necessary?
-How many badges do you typically bring? I figured three, just for swapping out and stuff. And is it in bad taste (or rather would it look stupid) to wear badges for different characters at the same time?
-Is there any place around the con I should know about? Spending money is a bit tight but are there events or food or something that's worth checking out?
And I guess that's it! If you're going, I'll see you there. Here's to hoping it's not the worst time ever, whoooo!

They have wi-fi, but when I went last year, it was hard trying to get online because of how occupied the wi-fi network was. You can bring your laptop, but if you're planning on using the Crowne Plaza Hotel's wi-fi, I wouldn't try it.
The only badge necessary is the FurFright badge that you pick up at registration. You don't really need a badge or badges of your character there.
Other things, uh....
Here's the Code of Conduct: https://www.weasyl.com/journal/1799.....nduct-reminder
Here's the con schedule: http://www.furfright.org/schedule.pdf
Events: http://www.furfright.org/events.pdf
I don't remember seeing too many interesting restaurants in the area, unfortunately. I might drive up to Hartford for some noms.
Hope this helps.
- 10 badges, no less. The amount you have determines your rank among brethren; the more badges, the stronger you are
- Only consume NuttyBars, MtDew, and Goldfish crackers out of the communal bowl shared with the other hundreds of people at the con suite. There is no need for any other sustenance.
2. Wear as many badges as you want. I don't think anyone gives a shit if you wear badges for multiple characters, loads of people do it.
3. I have no idea whats around that place so I can't help ya there, sorry.
4. Have fun and please don't get violated. <3
Wear whatever badges ya want! Just make the Duino one front and center so people know who you are!
YOU'RE LITERALLY GOING THE ONLY YEAR THAT I WON'T BE ABLE TO BE THERE
That said, I've got an iPad now and will be bringing it to cons from now on, if only because I've missed a few dinners in the past as nobody could find me.
put atleast 50-60 bucks aside for food, in the chance that you go out to eat at a restaraunt, but, you can get by on walmart 2 dollar sub sandwiches if your room has a fridge or if you bring a cooler of some kind.
as for badges, all you really need is the badge they give you at registration, that badge is what the con-ops use to make sure that strangers aren't getting in.
as far as places to check out, just look over the schedule of events on the list in the stuff they give ya, bring a sketch book if you want people to draw in your book.
here's a video of a "first furry con" panel at RMFC you should watch.

3 badges is ideal. Too many can be cumbersome. good idea to wear a Rainer badge as well.
Make sure you go to a "first con" panel if they have such a thing.
