SOOOOOO.
Im getting kicked out as of october 31st. Her reason being so was that (right from the text) : "I rented you a room for one person.....inclusive and exclusive. You've turned into a two man all inclusive resort. no more."
Gree stays here for school and on days that he works late. She never minded it before. and I've heard absolutely nothing about it until right now, and she wants me out.
She also refuses to talk to me face to face and bitched me out for going into her room and using 2 towels, when during my first week here, she also said "Towels are in my closet up top, and you're welcome to use them whenever you'd like"
so anyways..
TL;DR : im being kicked out, person i pay rent to is a bitch, towels throw people over the edge.
now i guess its time to find a new place.. hurray for legit poor college student being kicked out and having to find a new place after only a month of being in this shit hole!

I guess that it'll be a lesson for next time though; get that stuff in writing and make them sign. It's very unfortunate that we have to live this way now, but... :\
so im going to be fighting this. I've been giving her rent; have no receipts aside from paypal emails, havent been given a key, been locked out one night and had to crawl in through a window.. and the room isnt up to safety code. neither is the entire house, to be honest.
But now, it's essentially coming down to "your word against hers" and thus is extremely hard to enforce. THAT is why you want to get everything in writing with a signature.
The room/house not being up to code is, unfortunately, a non-sequitur in this case; the fact that you are being thrown out has nothing to do with the safety of the premises. You wilfully decided to live there, probably despite knowing that the place wasn't up to par on safety regulations in the first place (one could argue that, obviously, but you get my point).
So, next time you lease a room/apartment, get it in written form; write down that you get a key, what is considered "fair use" (eg: towels for instance, internet access, phoneline use, fridge access, etc...) and access and the date at which rent and amount is due (upon payment of which you are to receive a receipt within x amount of time), anything in that fashion.
This is to protect both you and your landlord if there is a disagreement, as well as setting down actual, verifiable rules.
You then make a copy (or your landlord makes a copy) so you BOTH have one, you personally both have to sign both copies (don't photocopy a signature) and then, you've got PLENTY of recourse in the event that such a situation arises again.
