Twitter hacked
So my twitter got hacked. Twitter in its infinite power has a scorched earth policy when it comes to these things so basically my account was erased by them. There's an appeal process but their response to my mails have so far been, "huh well thats just too bad"
So first hand experience with an entity so large that it simply doesn't have to deal with individual complaints, at all. Fuck that.
Oh well im debating starting a new account or not. Frankly If i dont have to deal with twitter again ill likely be better off. Especially when they have become so big that when things go bad they can just shrug and leave ppl hanging.
AM i pissed? of course i am. Im now without a major communication method ive used for years to talk to friends.
Eh what should i do? just forget twitter or start over does anyone really give a shit?

(2) Have a twenty character long password with digits, lowercase letters, uppercase letters, and symbols in it, completely random in sequence.
(3) Replace password daily
(4) ???
(5) Good as it gets.
If you have a Google+ (and if you have a Gmail or YouTube account, you do) then just give that a try, I guess. There's actually a shitload of furs on it and you can find things that are of interest for you.
Regardless of if you want to use Google+ or not, you should turn on 2-Step Authentication for Google if you have a Gmail or YouTube or anything since it actually would protect you from being hacked like this. Even if someone were to guess your password, if it's a PC that you personally did not authorize to be logged into your account WHILE you're logged into the account, they'd be hit with a "Please input the PIN from the Authenticator app"...basically, they'd need your phone AND password to get into your account with 2-Step.
Twitter has something like this as well and you should turn that on too if you do decide to go back to them.
given that I don't own a cellphone :)
But yeah. I can guess how frustrating this is.
I'd be pissed as well. Would probably set up a replacement after much grumbling. Too many folks are on it, it's great for breaking news and I've just gotten too used to it.
