I remember hearing stuff, but since people was making such a huge deal when SoFurry was a new thing, I pretty much decided to zone out on that... I just don't remember *what* they were saying.

Just like I'm deciding to zone out on Pokemon X/Y. Who knows, maybe in a couple of years I will get a SoFurry account AND Pokemon X AND Pokemon Y :P

I have a SoFurry account, though I no longer update the gallery I have hosted there. I mostly use it to keep track of a few artists who abandoned FA, but I also like to browse their stories from time to time. Beyond that, my account there gets little use.

I don't know about you, but I just don't have the enthusiasm to maintain more than one account. Uploading to a bunch of different sites and managing comments and stuff across all of them is just too tedious. Still, my SF account remains, just so I can check up on a couple of people.

No, even if most of my local furry friends do - I am already having enough problem handling dA, FA and Weasyl :P
I don't think it's any different than those. Besides, it used to be Yiffstar, and it had a bad reputation but now it's all different since it's had a whole new facelift and overall change looooong ago.

Hmmmm... maybe it has a different "flavour"? You know, it's also furry art, but cleaner and/or fancier art?

Yiffstar was the old name of SoFurry, it was named that until 2009.

I been thinkin' about getting an SF account mainly for my stories. Somebody said that FA is for porn, and SF is for smut. I ain't sure what the difference is in truth.

Yeah, I have the impression that the key difference is around that "porn vs smut" thing you are mentioning... And not being sure of said difference is pretty much why I was making this journal.
