Kellashee Musings

General
I recently did some brainstorming with a friend of mine
cybertouch over the details of the Kellashee - here's an abridged version.
The ethereal Kellashee inhabit a small world called Viridia. This world has an interior sun and they live on the inner surface in a thickly forested and hilly environment of giant trees. Anomalies with the world's gravity cause strange phenomena - one of which are the 'sky rivers' which otherworldy aquatic creatures traverse. Other environments in this world include lakes and rivers on the inner surface (as distinct from the sky rivers), rocky mountainous terrain and treeless plateaus. The massive trees conceal most of the landscape.
Their culture is tribal and has similarities to what we know as the Celts by way of some customs and a runic written language. Their world has several dozen tribes of Kellashee inhabiting the vast lush forest. The language remains similar between tribes but with local dialects. Tribes tend to specialise in different activities and talents and there is little to no conflict between these tribes - they trade and intermarry frequently. They are warrior-like without being warmongers - they protect what is theirs fiercely but have no notion of conquest.
Kellashee are arboreal - they can fly and prefer to live high up in the trees to avoid the dangers lurking below. They create large communal spaces within the trunks of the giant trees and build shelters and work spaces on the outer limbs. They have developed technology sufficiently to create and use mechanisms for raising and lowering the young, old and invalid, as well as heavy loads, from the surface to the treetops. They also utilise funiculars for movement of heavy loads along the hilly ground level and between trees.
As they are omnivores, their diet consists mainly of what they can hunt and forage from the forest. They have very little in the way of agriculture as the environment is not conducive to such - some nurturing of naturally seeded fruit groves and the breeding of small creatures for meat are the extent of their agrarian development. Some Kellashee like to tend small gardens up in the treetops where the light can reach, and cultivate rare and delicate plants and flowers for aesthetic and medicinal purposes.
Kellashee can see exceptionally well in the dark as their eyes share a similar structure to that of felines. Also like felines, long whiskers and an innate sense of balance gives them a sense of their place at all times, lending them grace and agility. In addition to these physical traits, Kellashee have developed the ability to weave illusions from the forest around them to confuse and evade would-be enemies.
