Never going to a concert again.
So I spent last night going to go see They Might Be Giants ("with Moon Hooch").
I have to say... the concert events are not something I particularly enjoy. I don't like being alone in a huge crowd of people murmuring around me as I wait to see the band I've loved since childhood...
I did feel better soon as they started playing... I had fun. Got my hopes back up.
I brought my first CD, ever purchased with my own money, FLOOD, to get signed.
Well, they snuck out the back, on the opposite end of the block, and had been long gone before I and the four others waiting for signatures or such heard.
People there waiting with me were commenting to stop the bus just for me when I said that FLOOD was my first ever owned CD and I wanted it signed.
It is a heartbreak that a band you've... well, adored, and felt has kept you company for a good portion of your life with their music that touches you in a way... to just run off like that.
Sure, I understand. They're busy people, and their night must have been just as crazy as mine... but they experience that almost every other day in their schedule tour.
They have to be exhausted by now I imagine... and just get up in a few days to do it all over again in New Mexico here in a couple days.
Forever the continuing trend to be left behind and forgotten... though I suppose one can't be forgotten if they haven't been seen in the first place.
