South Park does it again.

Well another episode of this latest season fails to be a pleaser at all. I was sorely dissipointed and am rapidly loosing faith in the creators to deliver inventive ideas to keep the show fresh and worth watching.
This latest episode more or less had TWO weeks, instead of the usual ONE week that they get to make a new episode. Due to a "power outage" last week there was no new episode till THIS week and frankly i was unimpressed and found myself wanting to change the channel before the episode was even over.
I honestly believe that Matt and Trey need to start thinking up a way to end the show before it gets to the point of them making stupid shit episodes like the last few just to please their contract with comedy central.
Iv'e personally felt that the show reached its peak a few years ago and has been on a slow spiral downhill till just this last season when only 1 of the 4 new episodes that have aired have been even remotely entertaining. The other 3 were complete and utter bombshells that felt like they were just thrown together without much though process at all.
I'm starting to wonder if Matt and Trey even care about the show anymore. From some of the interviews and their own personal comments over the last year or so they have given off the vibe that they are tired of south park because they wish to pursue more meaningful things like their broadway show The book of Mormon which has had rave reviews which just goes to show that they are still capable of producing exciting and entertaining commical satires. But I believe that their heart and soul is slowly slipping from South Park.
I cannot say that I am upset about this myself in anyway. As many years as the show has been on the air it would be stupid to assume that its only going to get better from here on in. Once a show starts to head downhill there is very little chance it can recover.
I really hope that Matt and Trey can start thinking of a way to end the show instead of throwing it to the dogs and letting it get cancelled due to lack of viewers. Or maybe that is their plan is to get the show cancelled so they can finally be free to do the things THEY want to do. I'm not sure myself but all i can say is i hope the rest of the season will be better but after these first four episodes I don't believe they will deliver the goods.
To me South Park is more or less officially dead. I will continue to watch the episodes that come in the future but I don't think i will ever be excited to see the NEW episode anymore since it will most likely be a let down. But as a long standing fan of the show i feel the commitment to watch regardless of if i feel the show has reached its lowest point or not.

That's sad to hear. I hadn't gotten the chance to watch any of the new episodes of South Park as I hadn't been to Comedy Central for many months now. Though, I wouldn't be surprise that the creators of South Park is starting to become stale and less into their show now since it's been on for so many years. I think it's starting to be like The Simpsons. The Simpsons had been on TV for nearly 20 years and 500+ episodes. I really thought they were going to end at just 500, but nope. They continued and it's starting to become extremely stale. Maybe it's time for two of the greatest 90s cartoons to finally end and move on. Both had a great run and be forever remembered as two of the funniest adult cartoon shows in history. I think it's time to end them and move on.

i think alot worse of The Simpsons. for me The Simpsons ended over 10 years ago. Also cancer-causing shows like MLP should never have been created.

One of the big problems with MLP is Hasbro itself. While it is true that the show is written and marketed to young girls, they must think we are all stupid. 90% the toys have absolutely nothing to do with the show. They are constantly taking down Youtube videos that aren't even making any adsense revenue and pissing off the fans. For me, I'm big into movies and I did go to 3 different showings of Equestria Girls at the theater. All 3 were jam packed, probably sold out and I hear of most other showings being sold out. Hasbro refuses to release any box office numbers to the public. I think they are afraid of the show becoming mainstream. They are going out of their way to make it as hard as possible for adults to like the show because of how worried they are about losing their targeted, heavily minority, young demographic.

but when a 50 year old , 300 pound hairy man fights with a 5 year old girl and her mother to get the last rainblow dash toy in a store, its time to clasify it as a new sickness disorder.

This emo episode was pretty bad. I didn't mind the WWZ episode because I've seen the movie, but I can tell if you haven't seen the movie then all comedy is lost. But if you look back at most of the South Park seasons, even the early ones, there were only a couple good ones out of the whole season. I'm actually surprised they haven't made fun of the government shut down or the recent Obamacare website shutdown or even Miley Cyrus's slutty VMA performance. Those are the things they usually target for their shows. The past few episodes have just been about South Park itself and their generic cookie cutter episodes.

OP
To me i honestly liked the show better when they came up with their own ideas instead of taking mainstream or even current events and turning them into episodes. Like imaginationland, red man's greed etc. The episodes that were original ideas forged by them to come up with something that hadn't been done before. Much like the earlier seasons of the show where it was a new idea and not one that was ripped right out of tv and slapped the kids right into the middle of this weeks big news topic or big new movie or big new product launch.

The Woodland Critters episode was hilarious and I liked Imaginationland a lot. I think the show does have potential, but they are missing out on a lot of comedy gold.
