Art Destroy Experiment
So I decided I am too attached to the outcome of my art practice and endeavors and not enough to the process.
What I've decided to do is over the next few weeks create about 6 complete pieces of art, all taking at least two hours, and representing my absolute best efforts.
Then (bare with me here) I'm going to crumple them up and throw them away without having shown them to anyone (Duke included, he's agreed), and regardless of what I think of them. (I will even turn on the compactor in the dumpster, to make sure they are well and truly non-salvageable. I've seen what that thing can do to a bike.)
The idea is to separate the joy of creating art with the extreme bummer of not liking what I ended up with.
So uh... look forward to me not posting over the next few weeks?
