Aww haha no I love Dr. Steve Brule! John C. Reilly is actually a really well-respected actor and is actually really talented, having starred in many serious roles as well. He just does stuff like this on the side because Will Ferrel became friends with him and it's fun. I hear he was great in Chicago, which I haven't seen, but one of my favorite things I have seen him in is his role in Miranda July's Are You the Favorite Person of Anybody?; it's simple, but poignant.

I just can't lose my self-consciousness enough. Same reason I can't dance.
