He's a gross popufur who has been accused of sexual harassment/rape many many times and used his fanbase to defend himself from the consequences of his actions and hush up his victims.
also I don't really care for his art much, but that's just me.

Looking at citra images, I would say just make your own race and add a unique twist to it! :) They don't seem to be so unique you can't capture the cute aspects of them with another race.

The best option is shrugging your shoulders and doing something else, just pick an obscure or underutilized species and don't worry about hybridization. There's always an untapped supply of cute with fewer moral and ethical problem out there.
