It's been forever since I've played a Harvest Moon game. I was actually looking at Rune Factory 4 for the 3DS, since it's basically Harvest Moon mixed with an action RPG.

Harvest Moon has always been one of my favorite rp games. I love curling up on a cold winter day and spending hours playing it. I'm planning on picking New Beginning later today =) I've never played Rune Factory, it looks really good. Don't you get to fight monsters?

Yeah, it has the same sort of setup as Harvest Moon where you show up, try to establish yourself, and end up wooing a townsperson, etc, but it also has combat. So your farming has a purpose aside from just making money, because your crops can help you in the fights too.

The series used to be titled "Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon" but it's dropped the subtitle as of the latest entry.
