AdventDestiny's Project Premises!

This post will be a catalog of the major stories and series I plan on writing in the next year; at the moment, I'm experimenting on concepts and designs, and will update this as new elements are developed...
Project Sodai-na Uchu Boken:
My central storyline, a collection of three series, all set in the same universe, which is a general tribute the collective Japanese special effects genre known as Tokusatsu, which encompasses shows and movies such as Godzilla, Kamen Rider, Ultraman, and Super Sentai/Power Rangers. Each series follows a different cast of lead characters, but characters can [and likely will] crossover frequently! This is a completely original series, with my own original characters, so I plan on marketing this as far and wide as I can!
AdventDestiny: The first series, which acts as a sort of starting point for the Sodai-na Uchu Boken franchise in general. This series follows the adventures of two unlikely heroes; Destiny, the resurrected Joan of Arc, an elegant and intelligent fighter, pure of heart, but haunted by a dark past. And Advent, a renegade demon looking for a new start in life, aggressive and unforgiving, but strangely noble, considering his demonic origins.
Both are polar opposites of each other, in both physiology and temperament, and yet they are strangely connected by a power that neither fully understands. Together, they hold the key to an ancient power, a force neither good, nor evil. Together, they will unite the darkness and light, and unleash the might... of AdventDestiny!
AdventDestiny is a series I've been working on for a long time [since before I became genuinely active online a year ago], and I consider this the most important of the projects I'm working on, so naturally, I try and take my time in writing and developing the concept, making sure to get it done right. So far, I've released two preliminary short stories, both of which focus on Joan of Arc, identified as Jeanne d'Arc. Now I'm moving into the next phase of the series, which involves introducing Jeanne's co-star, James Seraphin, AKA Advent! The design and premise of this story is a tribute to all Tokusatsu series in general, as well as many sci-fi and monster movies that I frequently watch. My biggest goal for this project is to try and raise awareness of the Tokusatsu genre, which is either completely unknown to viewers in the US, or is generally scoffed at for being ridiculous and over the top [as though any superhero comic isn't any more outlandish, it just happens to be something we understand because we grew up with it!]
Terra Guardians: This is actually a provisional title for the second Sodai-na Uchu Boken series, which is a more direct tribute to the Super Sentai franchise, known in the US as Power Rangers. Obviously, most people view it as nothing more than a children's show [which is exactly what it is, both here and in Japan], but my series would be a more mature, real world interpretation of the concept. The story follows the conflicts of an elite military combat team, equipped with the best in nano-armor technology and weaponry, as they battle the cybornetic minions of an intergalactic conquer. These soldiers are further enhanced by ancient, metaphysical power, which allows them to call upon massive, biomechanical beasts, which can combine into a mighty robotic titan, called... I have no idea what I'm going to call it, although I can say that the beasts will be heavily influenced by Chinese mythology!
JIRA: Queen of the Beasts!: The third series is a more direct tribute to the oldest, most well known example of the Tokusatsu genre... Godzilla! This series is also a tribute to western monster movies in general, as well to the many clichés and concepts in B-grade movies old and new!
The story of JIRA centers on a specialized government organization, tasked with the duty of capturing and containing monsters and other inhuman beasts that run amok. Within this facility of nightmares, there is one resident who is feared more than any other... a young girl, half human/half beast, known as Jira Megami, who was created from the DNA of perhaps the most powerful and savage beast ever to walk the Earth... Majiryu, the Emperor of Beasts! As newer, stronger, and more intelligent beasts begin to appear all over the world, seemingly aided by a rogue genetics corporation, the facility tasked with containing these monsters is left with little choice but to unleash their most dangerous captive, Jira, and pray that they can direct her animalistic rage towards their enemy! They are aided by an unlikely ally; an alien, an experiment that escaped from the invaders. This super-being, codenamed Synthetic Cyborg Bio-Chimera, develops a bond with Jira, and through this bond, may help Jira to connect with the human part of her long believed dormant...
So, this represents by OC series', now onto my fan fiction projects!
Pacific Rim: Broken Soul: Pacific Rim is currently my favorite movie of all time, being what I consider the ultimate tribute to the Tokusatsu kaiju film genre, and proof that a concept that's viewed by many people in the US as stupid and comical, can be made to be awesome as Hell! So of course, I couldn't pass up the chance to create a new story set in this fabulous storyline!
Pacific Rim: Broken Soul will be a fan-sequel, set during a theoretical second Kaiju War. It has a new cast of characters, Jaegers, and Kaiju, and will heavily explore the concept of loss, and the long path to recovery, through the eyes of both a survivor of a tragic event, and the men who saved her! This would be as much a test of my ability to incorporate themes into my stories, as it is a tribute to an awesome movie!
Daikaiju Academy: REVIVAL!: Daikaiju Academy, for those who don't know, is a fan-made storyline that is a sort of anime style comedy, with the giant monsters of Japanese film [such as Godzilla, Gamera, King Ghidora, etc...] re-imagined as anthropomorphic teenage schoolgirls... yeah, the concept is about as crazy as it sounds, but it strangely works, and does have a complex and diverse cast of characters, all of whom were created by ordinary, amateur artists and writers [some of whom have actually become quite successful, I might add!] like you or me!
Unfortunately, it has a bad reputation of the internet for being simply being a collection of NSFW, Rule 34 pics, which isn't true; these kind of works are the imaginings of adult fans that got carried away. Daikaiju Academy: REVIVAL is a new series set in the DkA universe, and I plan to portray the Kaiju Girls of the franchise in a much more positive light; I want to make it more of an action series, a good balance between action, good plot, interesting, intelligent characters, and tasteful comedy, with the sexuality significantly downplayed. I had already written a first chapter, but I didn't like the portrayal of the characters [including my early attempt at the Synthetic Cyborg Bio-Chimera character, which I chose to test out in a fan-fic.] So, I'm redeveloping the concept, with a new OC lead, and following the guidelines I just mentioned, to hopefully create an entertaining and cool thing, from a fan series that many kaiju fans online despise!
Pacific Rim X Daikaiju Academy: Taking my love of Pacific Rim one step further, I went ahead and developed the plot for an epic crossover fan-fic series, between the single best Kaiju film ever [at least until the new Godzilla 2014 movie comes out next year!] and the most unusual kaiju fan-fic series ever. Set in the same universe as Daikaiju Academy: REVIVAL!, PRxDkA is also a parody tribute to western horror movies, and is also designed to poke fun at the adult film industry in general!
While JIRA: Queen of the Beasts is a tribute series that re-imagines the concepts of low budget American monster movies, Pacific Rim X Daikaiju Academy is a series that parodies the concepts in those movies that we know are ridiculous or over used [such as the classic "the whore always dies first!" cliché!] It's a series that's also meant to explore a genuinely rare horror movie concept [at least in the US]... the sexy, female monster, or monster girls, as they are known by the internet artistic community in general. I want to explore a new kind of monster movie concept, one were the monsters are as lethal as they are sexy, but still monsters; not sexy vampires [which have done to death, really!], not sexy werewolves [shape shifting into usually not so attractive beast forms], and not sexy zombies [it's really hard making a shambling, rotting corpse look hot, you know!] This series has been in development for quite a while, and has constantly evolved [and still is, actually], beginning as a hentai series with an actual plot, and now focusing on just a tribute to monster movies with a twist, removing the majority of sexuality in order to make it more accessible to mainstream audiences.
The plot is this; experiment on a remote island goes awry, and a horde of hermaphroditic, female kaijumorphs [called Rim Girls, since they're all based on the deigns and concept of the Kaiju from Pacific Rim!] run amok, threatening a crew of film makers and models, as well as the special forces team sent in to rescue the civilians. Things get further out of hand, and it's up to a group of the classic Kaiju Girls from Daikaiju Academy, supported by the newly constructed Jaeger Girls [still looking for a more original name!] to save the day!
... okay, so that's about it! These six series/three franchises, will represent the bulk of my work; I'm notorious for thinking up of new concepts from out of the blue, though thankfully the adaptable nature of my works make it easy to incorporate any new concepts into the existing franchises on the fly, without having to re-write the whole premise! Stay tuned, as I'll be posting sketches and design concepts as frequently as I can, as well on updates on the progress of my individual series!
