Help with MIDI files/KORG M01D.
So I recently started playing around with the 'KORG M01D' download/application for the 3DS and I somehow managed to compose a piece of music which I thought sounded pretty good and that I might share with you guys.
Problem is, I export the MIDI file and load it up on my Windows Media Player only to find that it sounds nothing like the composition I made on my 3DS - all the instruments I used in the original composition have somehow been replaced with crappy piano sounds.
So I had a look around the internet and I'm guessing I need to apply 'styles' to the MIDI file or something to get it to sound anything like the original - but I have no idea what software I might need to download to do this and/or how much it might cost me.
Or maybe I'm just doing this completely wrong?
If you can, help would be appreciated.

It has a good selection of instruments that I can apply to the different MIDI channels/layers but it's not easy trying to replicate the sounds I had set up on the 3DS/KORG - the drums are especially difficult to replicate.
KORG M01D somehow convinced me I had hidden talent for writing music but I'm not convinced I want to invest so much effort in this venture just yet; I certainly don't have the patience to edit/completely restyle a track I've already created once.
Thanks for your help.
My suggestion would be to find a male-to-male audio jack and plug it into your 3DS and computer, recording it with Audacity or something like that. That's the best advice I can offer, if you want to keep the music sounding as it was.
I'll try giving the male-to-male audio jack idea a go - that sounds like an easier option in the short term - and for keeping to the authenticity of what I originally created on the KORG M01D.
Thanks a lot for your input.
