Drunkeness
Perhaps it is just my drunkeness, or perhaps it is the artist within me speaking tonight. For some reason, I feel the need to speak out about the great, and somewhat overlooked movie known as, The Crow.
A movie so beautiful and well constructed as, The Crow. It may be the goth in me, it may be the version of me stuck in the 90's. But, I feel that the movie is being passed over as one of the THE most masterful of films despite its cliches.
It is one of my favorites, and I continue to rewatch it well into a decade after first seeing it (not saying much as I am only 21).
It means so much to me, and influences so much of my creative works, that it feel that I cannot, without conscience, credit a single item of my writing to The Crow. It covers everything meaningful to me. A lost sense of place, powerful emotion, revenge, and a strong sense of connection to a single person who has been taken from me; it is the very base of all my creative works (seriously, read what I have uploaded and quote me on this shiznit.) The Crow may be the single most overlooked masterpiece in existence. A film so beautiful and well crafted, that it does not receive the praise it truly deserves. It's a tragedy, really, that The Crow is not mentioned as much as it needs to be.
Perhaps it is only the goth stuck in the 90's that sees this thing. Perhaps it is only the drunken goth stuck in the 90's that sees this. I am not sure yet. But I know one thing. The Crow, is a masterpiece. And should be respected as one.

Strangely enough, forgetfulness seems to be a theme amongst the movie. Even forgetfulness spanning only a year's worth of time. Forgetfulness which seems to be very prevalent amongst today's youth.

Yeah I know that movie was masterful in the way the story was told. May not be my favourite but I do agree it toped many movies in that era. Love you my big kitty

I have found that the best movies aren't that well known by common society. Popular movies today replace plot and wit with unnecessary vulgarity and explosions. That makes the true great films all the more special.

True. Almost all of my favorite movies come from the obscure, made by artists who truly have a passion for the work and aren't in it to make a quick buck.
