Need help, game design.
I've spent the last 20 years thinking up a massive story. Over the last 5 years though, I've perfected and completed that story, and came with the idea for a game. I'm not gonna spill any details about it, but...
I can't program. Code. Get any game work done. I can't make a game, or any aspects of it. I can come up with the story and concept for it, but that's literally it.
And if I give someone esle the idea they're gonna take that idea and claim it as their own. They'll make it their own way, and I won't get a sliver of credit for it. So I'm not spilling any details about it.
Yeah, I can hear you programmers curse under your breaths, I can see your silly schemes, and I hold onto my ideas. But I need to get this game done. If there's one game I'd love to put my hands on, it would be that game I have in mind. How do I get around to programming a game? Flash, java, anything? Is there anyone who CAN help me with this? I really need it out of my system, I need it to!

So... either look up Pokehidden on inkbunny/tumblr, Fenexo, or perhaps Mitsies/rockcandy on here.
it would also help to know the TYPE of playstyle you're looking for.
Point and click?
text based?
platformer?
But in all seriousness, ideas aren't special. Everybody has ideas. Anybody can have ideas. But you know what actually counts? Dedicated hard work. And it's something that very few are willing to give.
So keep your idea. I've got twenty for each of yours, and you've got twenty for each of mine. Want that video game to actually exist? Then go make it exist. Go on, learn you some programming for great good. I swear to you it's not that hard.
...And for the record? Game design is more than just storytelling with clickable graphics. But I'm sure you already know that. You've had twenty years to realize it.
My advice is this, start small. It will take a while but work on something simple. Start by writing out stories and posting them online, or making various character arts and showing them off on sites like FA or DA. The only way you can get discovered is if you have something to show. Have something to show, and maybe then someone will be more willing to help you make your dream come true. But you can only really get there if you make it happen.
After all, tons of people get discovered all the time online.
You can go to some job hunt sites and find someone that can actually program, but the problem with that really comes down to money. People want money, and making games takes time. And one of the worst things you can do is heavily rely on one person, cause if they change things up or quit, you're screwed.
BUT, like I said, if you get discovered, you'll have a fanbase, and then you can start kickstarting sites and GET money to make your games by hiring the right people. It is harder than it sounds, but you have to work at it. Nothing comes for free, I spent a lifetime telling everyone how great my ideas are and got nowhere with it. But within the past year I have actually put some effort into writing more often to get my characters out there, and now I have 250+ watchers and a small fanbase building up, as well as artwork for my characters.
