I guess it's part of Sega's hand in things. *sigh* To be honest...I still haven't read the newest 3 issues since the reboot. I just can't get the enthusiasm to do so.

as of right now im jsut hopeing for some kinda of echidna besides knuckles to apper in the comics.

I'm doubting it will happen, though...I think a lot now is dependent on tne direction Sega wants to take the book, it seems. Who knows, if we do see anything, it may be the Echidnas of the BioWare game...but I get the feeling Sega wants to keep as many of their own characters as they can and utilize the SatAM characters (since that's what the comic book readers know).

i actualy heard from some one on TSSZ Ian siad that scourge and fiona will play a part in a upoming story arc.
alsot he bioware echidnas were cool i mean shade looked kinda origonal.but i thik they should wait tll the EA/sega v ken lawsuti is done before useing them. infact im gona insult my own charicters. shade looks roe origonal than neyla-sa and kitana.

It makes sense Archie wouldn't be able to do the 25 years later stories anymore...simply because of Penders' characters. I don't know...really...how they're going to re-fit the game characters into this reboot storyline yet. If Sega wants them to stick to the games for character backgrounds...adding in Shadow will just make the same mess of a human society all over again. I never approved of that hidden human society stuff they did.

That's how they did the "Sonic Adventure 1/2" storylines--they introduced Station Square as a hidden human society, separate from the "war-like" Overlanders as they called humans before. I thought it was the stupidest idea they ever had to bring in "Station Square" and a bunch of humans. *laughs*

It's easier for Archie Comics to not use Penders' characters whatsoever, rather than talk to him about using them. In the end, I think it's really more up to Sega though...since they're the ones spearheading the comic. Since Penders is suing them as well...I highly doubt they'll even consider using his characters at all anymore. *hmmmm*

im sorry in all seriusness..i see this comic blowing up in his face. he has pissed off jsut about all soic fans. a hand full of them now refuse to read the main comics. in comic storys people cna easily say to some one about to buy his comic "you know that comic is jsut a rip off oft he sonic ones. here let me get a GOOD comic"..infacct thats how i see it. i even TOULD him the comic jsut seems like a rip off cuase they are still echidnas. but...he didnt lisen he jsut said "the difference is this s MY comic" i tould him due to the charicters still being animals this seemed like a fan fiction. but he did not lisen. i just see the lara-su chronicles blowing up. hes putting too much faith into it. i mean for crying out loud HE IS HOPEING TO GET A MOVIE OUT OF THIS COMIC. A FRIKKIN MOVIE

The thing is...........he can not and should not be allowed to get away with it. Maybe he "created" these characters for their storylines in the comics--but they had a basis on Sega's existing animal-type characters...in this, it should make it nothing but fan-fiction. So...he's trying to play a martyr and make money off of fan-fiction!!! It's just kinda stupid...nobody in this world really makes "big bucks" off of creating fan-fiction. (He should move to Japan...they have the fan-circles there, he should just find a Sonic one and join it.... *ugh*)

The sad thing about all this is...he insists on using Sega's anthro-Echidna design. He could very well have created something completely original if he wanted to redesign what an anthro-style Echidna looks like, or even if he chose different animals to use in his stories. Different animals could STILL have had the names and personalities he came up with!!!

Instead, he just decided to piss off all the Sonic fans...and ruin the comic Archie Comics was doing--all at the very same time. It's so sad. He has no love for fans, if this is how he's treating them already.

This man. It's just...really sad and frustrating, because I DID enjoy his writing once...I liked what he did with the comics. I can honestly say much of my old fan-fiction is based on what he gave to the comic book.

I wish he realized that, essentially, he was playing with "someone else's action figures" when he created those characters for the comic book. I remember he was the one who wanted to bring so many humans into the comic, too...he could have made some original stories with human characters that had the names and personalities of the ones he "created". He may have been happy about doing that in the end--and it would've saved everyone that lawsuit business. I wonder if he thinks that nobody will show interest if they "can't recognize" the characters...but to me that shows he has very little faith in his storytelling, too. Like he can't tell a good story unless it was the characters he made and had designed in this particular look/style.

If it were me...and say I am so attached to Keira-Jo that I can't get rid of her. I would honestly consider changing her furry base or something. Or humanize her. But I wouldn't have risked upsetting fans and destroying something they loved, just for the sake of my ego. I would have tried to compromise or work it out...instead of causing a mess.

I find the whole "Mighty No. 9" situation interesting. The fact that Capcom's just stewing over it and not trying to sue him for infringement or anything seems to say to me that Capcom's got a lot of problems (money) and it starts to lend believability to the rumours that they may declare bankruptcy. I think if Capcom had actually agreed to put out some of the games they cancelled (or Capcom of America translate some of the games they didn't)...the fans wouldn't hate them so much and they might not be suffering so bad financially. But they think they can keep going by revamping "Street Fighter"...and they can't, not anymore.

A part of me wishes Capcom actuall would go bankrupt...and sell their franchises to other companies, who might love them better. The Rockman/Mega Man franchise would probably be handled really well by Nintendo, I'd bet! Level-5 would probably love to have the "Gyakuten/Ace Attorney" franchise, too!

I've been hearing about Capcom's financial troubles for about 2 years now. Capcom USA has used "it's not worth the money" as their excuse to not bring over certain games, like "Gyakuten Kenji 2" (Ace Attorney Investigations 2) and the Mega Man Battle Network/Star Force crossover game.

I know. I hope that Inafune gets as much support for "Mighty No. 9" as he can, so that the game can become a platform release...last I heard it's currently only planned as a PC release (probably because of funding).

I don't think I look at IGN much anymore, since they really want people to pay to "join" and see all the good stuff on their site. *chuckle* I remember when they made that move and it was annoying...but they've started not forcing that pay thing in recent years, at least. I miss the video gaming magazines though...I used to buy "GameFan" and "Electronic Gaming Monthly" sometimes and I had a subscription to "Nintendo Power".
