Yesterday morning I was involved in a car accident on the highway. I was going 65mph (which is the speed limit) down the highway on my way to a normal work day when I hit a patch of black ice and flew off the highway into the biggest tree possible. The front driver side of my little Ranger took the impact setting off the airbags. I have a fractured nose, "rug" burns all over my right cheek due to the airbags, the airbags also caused temporary blindness in my right eye, bruised rib cage from the seat belt, a major concussion, whiplash and several torn muscles in various parts of my body. Doctors say i will be fine in 3-5 days, no other fractures or breaks besides my nose. Lets just say I'm in a lot of pain but am very surprised I walked away from an accident of which statistics say I only had a 3 percent chance of surviving. And an even slimmer chance of being able to walk away from it. My truck fared decently as well... I'll post a picture soon. From the looks, the frame is ok, the "cosmetic" parts of the truck took most of the damage. But airbag deployment in itself may have totaled the vehicle. Guess we will have to wait for a verdict from the insurance company. For now though I could use some support. Its been a very rough past few days, I'm suffering a type of survivors guilt and am second guessing everything that happened yesterday, and wondering how i am even still alive... I could use some comfort.
