Oh those wonderful toys

Well recently I purchased a Sig556 carbine with a red dot holo sight already mounted. It's probably one of the best carbines I've ever shot and I've shot a lot. Though there is a slight problem. The holo sight mounted which is Sig branded won't hold a zero. I can dial it in and then smack the side of the rifle and it will be off zero again... Grrrr. Thankfully Sig has good customer service so hopefully I can get the sight replaced before the three gun match.
Another item I've been looking at is buying some new optics for my hunting rig and maybe transfer it later to my long range target rifle. I've been told by a few friends in the shooting community to look at Millett's tactical scope. I went to Millett's site and found that none other than Major John Plaster is working with them now. He's well known in the sniper community for his books and videos and there are not many current or former long range shooters who don't own his book. I decided to give their tactical scope a try since it's a little over $300 compared to the $1600 Nightforce scope I was going to order. Here's hoping it's got the performance I need for the price.
