A question for artists about current art...
Y'know, I was listening to music (still am) and in my head I was picturing some anthro wolf jamming away all hardcore on a guitar. I thought, "That'd be badass!" Then I thought, "... Why don't I see more art of furries playing music?"
It just seems like something you'd see more of. Everyone listens to music - don't tell me YOU don't - and there's thousands of furry artists and hundreds of musical genres and millions of songs! You can take a genre of music... and just let your imagination run wild on paper! Heck, make it grunge rock; draw a group of canines and lupines - even vulpines - dress them up in ripped up clothing, have 'em jamming away on some second-hand instruments, and call them The Knots! It's not sexual, of course... unless you put them in skimpy clothing or no clothing at all, and they're grinding against ea - Ahem, yes.
Even if you're not willing to make up a band, you could make furry parodies of existing bands... like the Barkstreet Boys, My Pheramone Romance, Snarls Barkle - OKAY THOSE ARE TERRIBLE! But I'm tired and I'd like to see you do better! You get my point, though. I'm sure other people have thought of this, but it doesn't change the fact I don't see it...
Artists I'd love to see make a picture from this concept -
Blotch
Nek0Gami
Kaji
Nimrais
Shiuk
Zhivagod
(This kind of doubles as a late night rambling and a *look at these artists* type thing!)
Anyways, if you happen to read this, do you know about any pictures of just what I'm talking about? Am I just not watching the right artists? Thoughts would be appreciated!

FA+

but yeah agree that the artists you mention would do an amazing work with them :3, I would enjoy watching a rockband full of furs too, or a parody of popular singers turned into anthros too
Frankly, I think people don't draw that many furry musicians because instruments aren't easy to draw right.
Have you seen Cerberus' "Rockoons" flash toons?

However that art is hard to find. I remember Strype having a black canid in cyber-amp gear though. Kacey's Erhu is a find, too http://www.furaffinity.net/view/986346/. By the way, Snarls Barkley, actually pretty nice song concept given the atomsphere woven in "St. Elsewhere", "Last Dance ", & "No Time Soon"
And, ohhh.. that's a very nice picture by Kacey. Plus it has an interesting looking instrument I've never heard of. Thanks for showing it to me!
Glad you like Snarls Barkley. :P
Have you read them yet?
Awesome idea though. Who knows? It may spark some interest in the near future

~Cheer up Sleepy Jean. Oh, what can it mean?~
