Some of you may know I'm not necessarily to close with my family, but the holidays are that one time of the year we set aside our differences and try to pretend that we get along. Sadly this year is not one of those years. As of a few hours ago my family has decided not to celebrate Thanksgiving and possibly Christmas this year. There isn't really any reason why we won't see each other for the holidays, its more of a "meh, let's not bother with it this year kind of thing".

Now, I'm not the one to be all excited about seeing my family in the first place, but come on! It's the holidays, we should at least make an effort to show that we care about each other. It's the time of year to forget and forgive; to look past all of our troubles and try to be a normal family for once. I guess I'll be spending this thanksgiving alone. Maybe I'll go to a soup kitchen at a local church for a free meal and at least try to socialize with others. The worst part is, my boss predicted this and even recommended a few good food banks to go to during the holidays when alone....... man do I hate when he's right!

I guess there is bright side though. On Friday a few close friends and I are getting together and discussing plans on buying a house sometime in the near future. It would be a change in pace and a getaway from the situation I'm in now.
