So game question. [Please Read]

So I've been working on a game for a while that's no secret.
Actually nothing about the game is secret, but I don't like to ramble to someone who's not interested.
It's also several games actually. I've got five or six in various stages of progress, which is on purpose but that's besides the point and is more about how I want to run my company.
I've been working on one game seriously and I think it is the one I want to try and launch my company with.
What I forgot is to see if anyone beside me would even be interested in the style of game.
There are some of you I've already asked, but I'd like some more feedback.
Would you still play pokemon if the story, characters, and world was given more depth and engagement, but you couldn't interact with other players. So no trading, but you could catch them all on your own. You couldn't battle other players, but you would have more to explore and more to do than collect badges, fight bad team, and the elite four.
The game I'm working on isn't a pokemon clone, but the general game play could be compared to it and it's an easy way to frame thoughts.
If you don't want to answer here on the journal, please feel free to note me.
The same goes for games in general or if you have any questions about the one I want to make, please ask.
I'd really appreciate thoughts about what you think, and what you get the most out of a game like pokemon.
I'm not asking for anyone to, but I would appreciate pointing people to this question so I can get more feedback.
Also I'm still taking messages for

Or at least 80% of my gaming experience, period.
Heck, sign me up. I'd love to try it.
Having a more in-depth of game-play does catch my interest =0
The only problem you might bump into is that some of the gameplay in pokémon is dreadfully slow and kind of survives based on nostalgia and ease and the depth of some of the underlying systems; i.e. the menu-based turn-based limited-strategy combat is really really flat, even by yesterday's standards -- that's been my experience trying to develop new games, and I think you'll run into the same problems. If you found a unique twist while keeping the core engagement of catching a huge number of things and tying it together with a tight story, that would be amazing.
