Adventures of the Black Lion

Today I'd like to tell a little about a legendary brazilian comic series known as "As aventuras do Leão Negro" (The adventures of the Black Lion).
This series is under the barbarian fantasy genre, and the background is a universe of anthropomorphic felines. I'm not sure about the precise year of debut, but it was in the middle of 80's.
The main character is Othan, the remaining son of a fallen family of noble lions. To survive on a wild world, he became a mercenary warrior, a profession which fits perfectly to his violent and crooked behavior. Although he never married, Othan made a bunch of bastard sons around the world, but only assumed one of them to become his inheritor: Kasdhan, a cub from the lioness soldier Tchí, the love of his life.
Created by Cynthia Carvalho (writer) and Ofeliano de Almeida (artist), this series are full of great battles and unexpected situations. Sadly, today it's a bit hard to find any publications containing the comic, even in Brazil.
Some years ago I had an opportunity to make contact (via email) with the artist Ofeliano de Almeida (which abandoned the project due to lack of time). I promised to him a rendition of the Black Lion, but I'm also trying to find a spare time for it. When it's done, I'll post in my FA gallery too. :3

Make it stop. Aieeee!
Well frankly you make anything better. So lookin' forward to it.
At the time when I talked to Ofeliano, I started a sketch, but today it looks awful dated. I need to work on a new one.
So when you gonna draw Swain? *snickers* =) kidding. Dude, even your dated stuff is great.
And this is totally unrelated. But that icon you have at the moment. Isn't that from that game where you shoved tiny plastic swords in a barrel to see wich one made the pirate jump out?
So it appears you have good taste in games, ahaha.
'Bichos do Mato' eu conheço. Também já li a primeira edição. Muito bom o traço e a história. Me identifico um pouco com o estilo gráfico da série, mas também é outro que eu nunca mais vi em lugar nenhum. :/
hehe
Almost like Thundercats Lol
It's only a problem if 2 characters share near iddentical designs, personality and/or backstory.
I sort of like my black lion, though. He's a lot like a samurai.
Unfortuantly I suspect, expecialy as you say it's hard to find nowadays, that that is a service that would cost more than I am likly to ever have :(
are you an illustrator, or work in any type of animation?
it would be neat to be apart of recreating that story with the creator!
im sure you'd great, i know you've got the drawing talent for, would you intend to redraw some of his older works?
Strangly, while I have had no knowledge of "Back Lion" at all till you posted about it, I myself was trying to make a story about anthro lions in a barbarian-like theme .But it took place in a european Stone-Age setting and all the lions were of the usual tawnty fur colors or brown-colored, not black. Not to mention that there are are some differences between Othan and my main lion character.
