Need some...motivation...so to speak.
So, now that I finally got every piece of art I paid for (except from at least one particular artist that doesn't appear to be around anymore), I find myself wanting to do something but I'm unsure if anyone would like it.
Basically I was thinking of trying my best to try and make my story into a comic...OR at the very least finish re-writing the first book so I can finally get it published. However being unemployed since August 2012, having been disabled from a work injury from June 2012 and was unable to go back to work until about February 2013, and having no such luck finding employment. I also lack a driver's license, or a vehicle, to which many jobs that are hiring near me require that for the ability to travel to another store in another town here in Maryland if need be. I've tried finding jobs online, and the nearest I can find are in Baltimore, MD to which is about a 30 minute drive from where I live, and without a reliable form of transportation I'm pretty much S.O.L. When I was younger my step-dad told me that he'd teach me how to drive and help me get my license, but well that never happened and here I am almost 30 with no license...it really sucks. Maryland requires time behind the wheel before you can get your license, and also classes require your own vehicle or to rent one. So I'm in a situation where I need money to basically get a job but I need a job to get money...so yeah that sucks. HOWEVER....I will hopefully be getting some money soon from well....I'd get into details but I really don't want to jinx it so I won't say anything about it until after.
So...back to what I was saying, since being unemployed I've been wanting to get something with my story, maybe get the first book finished and published, but I haven't been able to get myself to do so. I seem to lack the motivation to do so, and end up just doing something else around the house rather than writing or even trying to practice drawing. I want to get better at drawing as well so that maybe I can actually sell art myself and make money that way, but my current skill level is at a level that I doubt anyone would ever commission me.
Anyway, I was hoping maybe someone knew of something that could help motivate me to work more on my story so that I'm at least doing something more between job hunting, but I don't expect many to even read this journal so all this may be falling on deaf ears so to speak.
